Come to the country-western hoedown!

Angels of Long Island event to take place on June 6

Get out your blue jeans and cowboy boots because Angels of Long Island is having a country-western hoedown fundraiser.

The event is Thursday, June 6 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Simplay, 180 Commerce Drive, in Hauppauge. There will be music by DJ Beso, dinner, open bar, basket auction and 50/50 raffles.

Tickets are $175 per person. They are available on the Angels of Long Island website and at their locations in Patchogue and Mastic. They will also be available at the door.

“We didn’t want to do a gala,” Angels of Long Island founder Debbie Loesch said. “We just wanted to do something that would be laid-back and fun.”

Loesch said the nonprofit organization needs to raise funds because more people are seeking help from its free grocery store and farmers’ market.

“We’re seeing an influx of 20 to 50 new families a week,” she said.

At the event, Angels of Long Island will honor 14 of its longtime supporters.

“Everybody we’re honoring has been an amazing supporter of our organization,” Loesch said.

The honorees are:

Jeff Brett, Jodi Brust, Ken Calderone, Michele Cayea, Michelle Cavaleri, Steven King, Bruce Loesch, Benny Migliorino, Patricia Peterson, Jean Marie Pfeifer, Dara Pratt, Tiffany Rivera, Lavonia Scaggs, James Stein
