Supervisor thanks the North Bellport Land Use Committee at Porter’s

Recently, supervisor Dan Panico (back row, center) was at Porter’s restaurant in Bellport Village for a night of conversation and appreciation with the North Bellport Land Use Planning Committee for their submissions to New York State for the use of $4.5 million  to spur revitalization efforts in North Bellport.

North Bellport stands out as one of the two Long Island communities granted $4.5 million through the NY Forward initiative. Funds will be used to help support transformative investments in the community’s downtown area, centered around Montauk Highway and the Bellport Train Station. Public involvement is essential to ensure that the vision for the plan and projects proposed are responsive to community needs. The NYF planning process is led by the Local Planning Committee (LPC), with significant support from the state team and a consultant team.

“I remain deeply committed to improving the lives of the people of North Bellport and will work to see the much sought after downtown redevelopment come to fruition.  This dinner was simply a gesture of heartfelt thanks, and as we dined, we spoke about the future and came to know each other on a more personal level.  It was a beautiful evening together and was enjoyed by all,” said Panico.
